Bound Retreats
Bound Retreats needed a brand identity that felt connected to its parent brand while also expressing the unique spirit of its writing retreats: luxury rooted in nature, creativity, and transformation. The challenge was subtle yet exciting: the “Bound” wordmark had to remain visually consistent, and only the “O” could be reimagined. Through research, sketching, and iteration, we explored organic forms that could embody the retreat’s meditative, nature-driven essence.

The final logo centers on concentric rings inspired by tree trunks and topographic lines: symbols of growth, strength, and rootedness. Paired with a refined type system and Gotham for “Retreats,” the design feels grounded and intentional, reflecting the retreat’s atmosphere of clarity and focus. We extended this into social media templates and brand guidelines, using the rings as a flexible graphic element to create texture and depth. The result is a cohesive identity that balances luxury and nature, instantly recognizable yet deeply connected to the creative journey Bound Retreats offers.
The process was highly collaborative, with consistent back-and-forth as we refined the concept. Starting with research and moodboards, we explored natural forms and book symbols, then translated those into sketches and iterations of the “O.” Each round of feedback helped us balance Bound’s parent identity with the Retreat’s unique character, ensuring the final logo felt both familiar and fresh.
